Aloha, I’m Renato Fontaine, a Hawaiʻi-based filmmaker with a passion for visual storytelling. Although I was raised in Hawaiʻi, I also spent time living in Japan and the Philippines, experiences that helped shape my perspective and creative style.

I studied filmmaking at the University of Hawaiʻi, where I earned a degree in Film Studies. What started as a love for movies eventually grew into a full-time career behind the camera. Today, I specialize in creating cinematic and authentic visual stories through filmmaking.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with organizations such as Hawaii Workforce Pipeline, Pulama Lanai, HD-Premier, and Bowers + Kubota, helping tell stories that highlight community, culture, education, and local impact.

When I’m not working on projects, I enjoy watching films, spending time with family, and continuing to explore new ways to tell meaningful stories. I currently live in Hawaiʻi with my wife and our three sons.
